When you start a new job it can be daunting.
Answer:
Management should have sent an email to all staff informing them of your arrival, your background and responsibilities. You could send an email yourself to everyone who will be dealing with you. What should you do when you start a new job?
Introduce yourself and say you’ve taken over from the other person and are looking forward to meeting them all. To finish the email, say that all queries related to your area of responsibility should be directed to you.
If your colleague continues to withhold information from you, suggest that you both go and meet together to clarify the roles and handover procedures.
Aside from that, you need to develop your ‘brand.’ Prepare a 30 second video in the time it takes to to the first floor in a lift.
Go to all company networking functions and introduce yourself to all executives who attend. (Prepare conversation topics based on company directions, Christmas break or families, their background and other interests.) New Job – your mark
Update your LinkedIn profile and link with all of the company’s executives and continue to do your best on a daily basis.
